Steps on Caring For Yourself During Your Menstrual Cycle
healthline.com
During that time of the month ,it can be excruciating and exhausting for some of us ladies. The unexpected mood swings ,constant cramps and numerous pimples. Honestly it is too much sometimes but when that time comes around again. How do we take care of ourselves? It is a learning process for me as well but the first step in making sure your body maintains its strength and energy is to drink lots of water ,yes while you're putting out make sure to put back in. Taking vitamins is necessary as well so make sure and intake your vitamin C. Plus these would be a major benefit to your skin !!!.
Secondly, caring for your skin. Usually when its close to my period, my face I swear looks totally different, pimples appear, it just has this rough sought of look .This is when I know it its near!!! But not to worry for those who stick to their skin care routine try not to over do it with skin care products ,use face wash and remember that this ordeal usually last during your period so don't over do it with various amounts of products. Another thing is that some people tend to get acne or pimple on their upper arm or below the neck , you should definitely resist from scratching or picking at it .This can leave a permanent scar on your skin.
Thirdly, using the right pads or tampons. Now you know sometimes the choices you make in choosing the wrong pads can get you into some embarrassing situations y'all. Yes, you should always try and purchase a pad -if that is your option- that fits you comfortably. Usually overnight ,our sleeping positions can shift the pad and this can create a mess when you wake up in the morning, if the pad is too short maybe try using the longer ones. There are various choices now, so choose one that best suits you. Another step that you should always practice is knowing when to change and dispose of pad or tampons. Always change your pad regularly during the day. Sis, you definitely do not want to catch an infection or be placed in an awkward or uncomfortable situation.
Lastly, always remember that this is a natural process and this stigma some people have about periods or menstrual cycle definitely needs to stop. A simple thing as purchasing a pad at the supermarket makes me feel so awkward, but then I ask myself ,Why should I feel ashamed of something that is natural?. So in other words period shaming definitely needs to stop. The only thing that is in our control is making sure to take care ourselves when the next cycle comes ,before and after.
Question :What skin care product do you use after your period?
Women really need to understand the changes that their body n mind go through at this time

DeleteLovely blog and topic....very informative my sis! Keep up the great work and spread the information because sharing is caring. A lot of us females don't really take the time to observe ourselves or even take the time to educate ourselves on these topics. Good hygiene is the key and maintain good health is a bonus .
ReplyDeleteI'm looking forward to the next post. Oh and I keep my regime simple, I use a neem face wash and well as far as other products, I wash with sea salt and use a mild unscented soap and well baking soda to prevent itching.
